Changing Lives,
Building Futures.

Welcome to Castle View School — a place where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated. We believe that every young person deserves an education that not only meets their unique needs but also nurtures their strengths and inspires them to shine. As a specialist SEMH school for Key Stages 1 to 5, we’re proud to offer a safe, encouraging, and truly uplifting environment where children can overcome challenges, grow in confidence, and realise their full potential.

At Castle View, we wrap care, understanding, and expertise around every learner. Our mission is simple: to create an inclusive, nurturing community where pupils with Special Educational Needs can thrive — especially those whose journeys have been shaped by Adverse Childhood Experiences or other difficult circumstances.

From trauma-informed support and welcoming meet-and-greet moments, to calming interventions such as PACE, de-escalation strategies, sensory spaces, and dedicated safe rooms, our approaches are designed to help pupils feel grounded, understood, and ready to learn.

We champion neurodiversity, embrace restorative and compassionate conflict resolution, and foster a growth mindset in every classroom. Together, these values shape a school where children discover not only what they can achieve — but who they can become.

Castle View School — where every child’s story is valued, and every future is full of possibility.

THERAPEUTIC
SUPPORT at castle view —
empowering every learner through care, expertise, and connection

At Castle View School, we believe that every child deserves the right support at the right time — and that therapeutic care should sit at the heart of education. That’s why our school is proud to offer a rich blend of on-site therapeutic services designed to help pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Our highly skilled team includes Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Occupational Therapists (OT), psychotherapists, and trauma-informed practitioners, all working together to ensure each young person receives the personalised support they need to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Using compassionate approaches such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and the Zones of Regulation, we help pupils understand their emotions, develop self-regulation skills, and build positive relationships. These strategies are woven into daily life, creating a consistent and nurturing environment where children feel truly supported.

Our team is also trained in Team Teach, ensuring that we use safe, respectful, and child-centred behaviour de-escalation approaches that prioritise connection and dignity. Alongside this, our Engagement for Learning framework helps pupils re-engage with education at a pace and level that works for them, celebrating every success — no matter how small.

Whether through sensory integration work with our occupational therapists, communication support from our speech and language team, therapeutic sessions focused on wellbeing, or trauma-informed care tailored to individual experiences, our approach is holistic, gentle, and deeply grounded in understanding.

At Castle View, therapeutic support isn’t an add-on — it’s a fundamental part of who we are. We’re here to help every child feel safe, capable, and confident, so they can step forward into the world with resilience and pride.

SAFEGUARDING GOLD

Some safeguarding reviews stay with you.

Castle View School has just been awarded the SGF Gold Award — and it’s a powerful reminder of what safeguarding looks like when it is truly lived across a school.

Yes, the systems are strong. Yes, the Single Central Record and safeguarding records are where they should be. Yes, the DSL role is delivered at a very high level.

But what really stood out?

The students.

They spoke about feeling safe. They knew who to go to. They trusted the adults around them — especially their DSL and wider team.

That’s the difference between safeguarding that is in place… and safeguarding that is felt.

Huge credit to Marie Stock (Designated Safeguarding Lead), Vickie Perkins (Headteacher) and the whole Castle View team for creating a culture where children are genuinely heard and supported every day.

And, as with all Gold reviews, there are thoughtful next steps around strengthening strategic oversight — because great schools don’t stand still.

If you’re wondering how your setting would look through this lens…

The SGF Silver and Gold frameworks are designed to do exactly that —

  • give reassurance,

  • strengthen practice, and

  • celebrate what you’re already doing well.
